The Secret Place

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalms 91:1)

I thought I would be writing about a different scripture but yet again Yah is showing me He is in control and can’t be calculated down to a formula. Most times I receive my verse before I go to sleep (for the next day) but this morning I heard the words of this scripture and immediately knew it was this and not what I had been holding to and meditating on overnight.

Imagine if I had brushed this off and continued to hold the other verse simply because He already gave me it to me when I expected it. What if my heart was not open to receive Him or hear what the Spirit was saying? What if I wasn’t open to the shift? It could have thrown my whole day off.

This is also the perfect verse to explain this concept. Yah is always in the details and brings it full circle. It is only by dwelling, abiding, and spending time in Yah’s presence that we can feel Him, recognize Him, and perceive what He is doing and when. Becoming sensitive to the Spirit through frequent interactions is what allows is to use our spiritual senses better and without even trying; and that comes by adhering to exactly what Psalms 91:1 says.

He who dwells

I want to note for this part of the verse, the Kings James version says “dwelleth,” eth means forever or never ending. To me dwell means to rest, to lay in a place of refuge, never leaving or wanting to leave, or even thinking about leaving. To be in consistently. To sit in and wait not matter what. To be unmoved.

In the secret place of the Most High

The secret place is our dwelling. The only place where we can and will find safety, love, protection, peace, and anything we could ever need. It is in the quiet place with Yahuah. In a place where it is just us and Him alone. Where we can forget everything and let Him become our perfect peace because we are diligent to keep our eyes on Him. When we seek Him in the secret place, trusting Him to provide safety, He shows up every time! Allowing us to add to His record of faithfulness.

Shall abide

As we abide in Him, He does in us, as does Christ. Any branch abiding in Christ is pruned by the hand of Yah and has no choice but to bear the fruit thereof. Because He loves us an cares for us, He will make His home with us as we make Him ours. And He is careful to tend to us so that we may become healed, full, and more like Him.

Under the shadow of the Almighty

We know that Yahuah has wings like an eagle. An eagle has one of the largest wingspans of all birds. Our God will cover us and hover over us as a shield. Keeping everything that could bring harm away from us. He hides us in His bosom, surrounding us with His perfect love. Going before us as our banner, presenting Himself as our God, showing that we are His and we belong to Him.

Yah continues to reveal and speak and present His loving grace and mercy before us time and time again. As we dwell and abide, so does He. Our spirits, souls, hearts, and minds become sensitive to His presence in this atmosphere. His voice, His look, sound, taste, smell; all of our senses being able to discern spiritually what He is doing, saying, and why. Even if we don’t know why, how, when, or what, we know Yah. We know our Father, our Lord and Savior, and His Spirit. And as we know Him, we continue to prosper in His perfect peace. That which can only be found in the secret place.
